HAPPY SOLSTICE AND THE STRAWBERRY MOON

image

The longest day and the full moon

For the first time since 1967 the summer solstice coincided with a full moon – called a  “strawberry” moon .
Named by North America’s Algonquin tribes of North America, who believed June’s full moon signalled the start of the strawberry picking season, the moon may glow a warm amber, but does not appear pink or red.
